Frequently Asked Questions

The Active underwater treadmill is a modular, self-contained aquatic exercise system designed for human use. It combines a medical-grade stainless steel treadmill with integrated water storage and treatment systems, allowing your clinic or practice to provide safe yet effective hydrotherapy services. The Active model’s design can be installed in areas where space is restricted and cannot accommodate traditional systems, and includes a range of features that encourage better movement and rehabilitation than on-land solutions.

The Active treadmill model is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, ranging from general fitness to rehabilitation and chronic conditions. The low-impact nature of underwater therapy and encouragement of safe movement makes it an effective solution for particular clients such as those recovering from surgery, experiencing chronic joint issues, and service users that could otherwise have mobility issues with on-land therapies.

Hydro Physio’s Active treadmill model includes fully comprehensive operation and maintenance documentation, plus correct guidance on water treatment, hygiene and safety protocols. Our technical support team are also available to handle any troubleshooting and general enquiries, including sending out our trained engineers to diagnose and assist in any repairs or replacement parts.

Each clinic or centre’s usage of the Active treadmill will be entirely unique to them, however, when generating a general cost, please be considerate of:

  • Electricity usage (used to heat the water as well as operate the treadmill)
  • Water treatment and filtration (including chemicals and frequent cleaning of the area)
  • Routine servicing and maintenance (to ensure the longevity and optimal function of the product)
  • Set-up time (staff time – who will be performing checks, hygiene maintenance and client support)

Lead time and delivery depends on product specification and location. Once you have confirmed your requirements and a quote has been generated, you will be provided with delivery, installation and lead times at the point of sale.

Yes, in order to securely install your new treadmill, certain requirements need to be met such as:

  • Floor loading capacity (ensuring the floor can bear the weight of the treadmill/water weight)
  • Facility access (to ensure delivery and installation is possible)
  • Water handling plans (where the water will be sourced from and drained to)
  • Electricity outlets (that they’re located in safe, secure areas and have correct certification)

All Hydro Physio treadmills are protected by a comprehensive warranty plan and detailed maintenance manual. These tailored plans will be generated once the product specifications have been confirmed and are provided at point of sale. Our technical support team are also on hand to provide you with any diagnostic and general queries, with the option of sending out a specialised engineer to personally see to any technical issue.
